International Cosmetics: How to validate an anti-aging treatment across four continents?
In an increasingly globalized beauty market, one question obsesses brands: Can a single formula truly conquer the world? Between climate variations, the biological specificities of skin, and cultural expectations regarding sensory experience, the challenge is significant. To address it, we orchestrated a large-scale, multicenter study, testing the same anti-aging treatment against global diversity.
A rigorous methodology without borders
The goal of this project was not to segment, but to verify the universality of a promise. To do this, we deployed a strictly identical protocol on 56 days, involving 400 women across the globe:
| Geographical area | Panelist profiles |
| Europe (France) | 100 Caucasian women |
| Asia (China) | 100 Asian women |
| North America (USA) | 100 African-American women |
| South America (Brazil) | 100 Hispanic women |
Precise time tracking
The assessments were conducted at four key stages (T immediate, T14, T28 and T56) in order to measure the evolution of the perception of the product in the short and long term.
The two levels of analysis: from Global to Local
To offer our client a strategic vision, we structured the analysis around two complementary axes:
-
The consolidated reading: An overview of the overall panel to validate the overall performance of the treatment and its brand consistency.
-
Detailed reading by ethnicity: A detailed analysis to detect potential points of friction or, on the contrary, unexpected successes on specific skin types (sensitivity, absorption, radiance).
Universality at the service of business
The ultimate goal of this study was to provide a critical decision support before a global launch.
The conclusion is unequivocal: when the methodology is sound, boundaries disappear. This study has identified that the potential of a skincare product lies not only in its active ingredients, but also in its ability to generate consistent sensory engagement, regardless of the climate or the user's skin history.
"Methodological rigor is the surest passport for exporting a cosmetic innovation."
